Wenn man sich fuer einen laengeren Aufenthalt im Sueden Europas entscheidet, ist die Vorfreude auf Eines besonders gross – das Wetter! Sommer, Sonne, Strand und Meer, vielfach besungen, wer mag das nicht? Fuer Viele die eigentliche Motivation. Diese Gedanken schwirrten selbstverstaendlich bei der Reiseplanung auch in meinem Kopf herum. Da ich jedoch eine „ernsthafte Mission“ verfolgen wollte, schien es mir ratsam, die potenziell ablenkenden Einfluesse zu minimieren. Ich entschied mich daher fuer den Zeitraum von Oktober bis Mai (Die punktgenaue zeitliche Uebereinstimmung des Kursangebots hiesiger Spracheinrichtungen ist eher zufaellig!).
Doch nun zu den Fakten. Bis dato, also die Monate Oktober und November, geschaetze 85% Sonnenscheindauer (selbstverstaendlich um Abend- und Nachtstunden bereinigt). Es laesst sich also aushalten. Letzter Badetag im Meer war der 30. Oktober. Es war aber kein Warmbadetag!

Es geht aber auch anders. So war vor allem die Terminierung einer relativ spontanen Rundreise im Grossraum Makedonien etwas ungluecklich! Besonders unangenehm war jedoch die Tatsache, dass ausgerechnet an diesem Tage, bei dieser Ausfahrt die Scheibenwischermechanik meines etwas betagten treuen Weggefaehrten ihre Funktionsfaehigkeit einstellte. Und zwar puenktlich zur Daemmerung! Wer schon einmal auf abgelegenen griechischen Landstrassen unterwegs war, kann erahnen was dies fuer Konsequenzen mit sich bringen musste. Begriffe wie „Strassenbeleuchtung“, „Fahrbahnbelag“ oder gar „Fahrbahnmarkierung“ sind im „wahren“ Griechenland wenig bekannt. Der zweite Teil des Ausflugs war demzufolge vor allem darauf ausgerichtet, lebend daheim anzukommen. Was am Ende haengen bleiben wird, ist die Entzueckung, die mir widerfuhr, als mir Fahrzeuge mit ausgezeichnet funktionierender Beleuchtungseinrichtung, entgegenkamen. Ein erster Vorgeschmack auf die Weihnachtszeit…
